Administrative Assistant to Programs

UFE raises public awareness of economic injustice & builds movements to foment greater equality.  Our strategies to achieve this broad objective include education, media work, research & publication, & network-building for action.
   
As Administrative Assistant to the Programs Department for UFE, the individual in this position will work closely with the Program Coordinator to enable a smooth, consistent & properly functioning department.  From this vantage point, one has the unique potential to engage in work for our various Program teams: Popular Economics Education, Tax Fairness, Racial Wealth Divide, & Responsible Wealth.

Duties involve, but are not exclusive to:
 
1) Providing administrative support to Program Coordinator.
2) Attending Program Department & specific team meetings, when necessary, in order to gain familiarity with various program objectives & provide support where needed. 
3) Recording & distributing notes from meetings.
4) Maintaining a calendar for Program work, thereby ensuring a cohesive & well-informed department.
5) Conducting project-specific research where assistance is needed.
6) Performing database record updates & creating new records when necessary.

Internship is from August through December 2008 (flexible). Hours are also flexible, but we prefer 10-40 hours/week.  This is a volunteer position, but we can provide a free MBTA pass and will negotiate a modest stipend for individuals working over 20 hours/wk.
