The Popular Economics Education program at UFE supports movement-building for economic justice. The education team designs educational activities that draw on people's lived experiences, then implements them in workshops that are available on our website. You may also request a facilitator to give a workshop at your site.
The educational materials and workshops we provide are tools to expose economic inequality and its cost to society, and they inspire participants to take action to close the growing economic divide.
Intern Responsibilities include:
translation of Education Team materials from English to Spanish;
research assistance in the preparation of education materials, including Internet searches;
assistance in the preparation of talking points and other descriptive educational materials;
assistance in the preparation of educational events.
Requirements:
fluency in Spanish; excellent written communication skills;
previous experience that involved translation of written materials from English to Spanish, research, and writing;
a background or interest in social and economic justice.
Internship is from June through August 2008 (flexible). Hours are flexible, but we hope for the intern to work a minimum of 10-20 hours/wk. We can provide a free MBTA pass and a small stipend for anyone working over 20 hours/wk.
